First off a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

I thought I’d post something up to let you know the current “state of play” with Clear Content and Clear eCommerce.

Development continues and Clear Content is hotting up. Right now I thought I’d take some time out to talk about the templating in Clear Content.

At an early stage the decision was made for Clear Content not to have its own templating language. We as developers are experienced with Smarty as I’m sure many of you are too.

As work is continuing I’d like to say a little about where we stand with Documentation. Documentation is one of our top priorities. It is something we want to get right straight from the off, and not use any shortcuts for it. We could start our beta a lot sooner, but for us there’s no point doing so until everything is present and correct.

So I’ll take this opportunity to tell you how we’re going about getting this documentation right. Firstly it’s being written by the developers - by human beings in as clear a way as possible. The documentation is to include a guide around our admin, templating and modules, offering guides and explanations to everything in the software.

It makes sense to start things off with an overview of what Clear Content is, what our plans are and where things stand right now.
