Development continues and Clear Content is hotting up. Right now I thought I’d take some time out to talk about the templating in Clear Content.

At an early stage the decision was made for Clear Content not to have its own templating language. We as developers are experienced with Smarty as I’m sure many of you are too. Not only this, but Smarty has been around for a long time, is well established and used widely, so we can guarantee to our users a templating system that is reliable and also has a wealth of support outside of us.

If you’ve never used Smarty before it is well worth checking out their website. The language is fully documented and has many great features.

Clear’s templating system uses Smarty templates, and you as a developer will be able to edit them fully. This gives you 100% control over the design of your pages which is something we wanted to get right from an early stage.
